The family of three independent schools all have the same philosophy and vision. They are owned and run by their respective Boards and Management Committees, which are responsible for them.

“The Schools’ Christian orientation and spiritual formation are entrusted to Opus Dei, a Personal Prelature of the Catholic Church.

“Opus Dei’s purpose is to foster among men and women of every walk of life a profound awareness of the universal call to holiness and apostolate, pursued freely and on their own responsibility, in their ordinary work and place in society.”

Plan de estudios

Trimont College has adopted an approach whereby the same topics are taught on an annual basis, in every subject. The educational philosophy is such that, in each successive year, the content covered is broader and deeper, thereby allowing the student to grow in confidence. This systematic reinforcement of content, which requires the acquisition of well developed habits of study and discipline, facilitates student learning at a relaxed pace and this impacts positively on other key aspects of their development.

As vehicles to guarantee the standard of excellence in education envisioned by our philosophy for our students and for our school, Trimont has subscribed to:
* AYSE’s ’9 Learning Situations’ for Personalized Education at the Primary School level – more specifically from Standard Two (Junior 3) to Standard Three (Junior 4);
* Cambridge Assessment International Education or CAIE (http://www.cambridgeinternational.org/) and the British National Curriculum for non-CAIE subjects (from Junior 3 to Form 3) for both Primary and Secondary schools; and
* The Ministry of Education of Trinidad and Tobago with respect to local curricula.

Aprender a Aprender

An important facet of our success is an Active Learning environment, whereby through problem/project based learning, our students learn to learn.
As mentioned above, a key instrument in this regard is the ‘9 Learning Situations’, which facilitates Personalized Education especially from Standard Two (Junior 3) to Standard Three (Junior 4). This method, developed first in Germany and then applied to other countries in Europe, was adopted by AYSE (Assessment and Educational Services) for implementation in Trinidad.
